Bannon, thru the Trump Administration,
Leading us to a War on Islam, and a US Theocracy.
Opinion 1/31/17 - Katherine Cleland
(I don't come to conclusions quickly, and I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I'm not an investigative reporter, but I'm someone who does research and strategy as a professional. I've been studying everything I can find on Bannon and his network around the Trump administration, this is my conclusion. I've been asked where is the smoking gun, where did he say this, and the answer is, he didn't directly, we can only infer from his words, his past actions and those around him. He is a strategist, a master chess player who never reveals his next move, nor three moves out, so we can only speculate on the end game.)
Steve Bannon, thru the work of the Trump administration, with help from Sen. Sessions, VP Pence and aide Stephen Miller, intends to lead the United States into an epic war against Islam. Not just Islamic extremists (that will be the pretense). A religious war that will parallel the Crusades for the modern times... all while attempting to transform the US into a Judeo-Christian Theocracy.
Trump says what he thinks, we're learning that. He promised in his inauguration speech " We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones and unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate from the face of the Earth". He meant it, but he and his team have underestimated what this will mean in terms of war, and how far and wide it will spread. Each attack will radicalize more muslims, and the conflict will grow. Although Christians slightly outnumber Muslims in the world today, the world's Muslim populations are growing faster.
Bannon is leading us to war because he has an epic view of the narrative of history, and believes that we are AREADY in an immense war with the "new caliphate"<Islam>, but the US political elite hasn't woken up to that "reality". Bannon conflates the war against Islam with the corruption of moral capitalism, and links it to secularism, especially among American youth. (While Bannon considers Judaism and Christianity equally moral,in contrast to secularism, Sessions, Pence and Miller would differ...)
"And so I think we are in a crisis of the underpinnings of capitalism, and on top of that we’re now, I believe, at the beginning stages of a global war against Islamic fascism."
"Now that call converges with something we have to face, and it’s a very unpleasant topic, but we are in an outright war against jihadist Islamic fascism. And this war is, I think, metastasizing far quicker than governments can handle it." - Steve Bannon Vatican call 2014
This opinion is based on a research into primary and secondary sources about Bannon and his network. (see right and below). The most important of these to this conclusion is his view as expressed in the Vatican call, excerpted at right, with a link to the full transcript below. Most of Bannon's videos are about his "economic nationalism", which plays better to the public as he addressed the tea party base. His "christian nationalism" is inferred.
Why a War on Islam: The pieces fall together:
So, if this War on Islam theory is correct, the hits are going to keep coming. There will be domestically:
My conclusion is that Bannon is not an alt-right guy. (nor is he a racist) He used the alt-right, and their rhetoric via Breitbart to win the election in a long term strategic move. Bannon is, as he put it himself, an "economic nationalist", but also a "christian nationalist". Steve Bannon has put the plans in motion to rework the United States to his ideology. and an Ideologue is more dangerous that a Narcissist, a Kleptocracy and a Autocrat.
But that's not all
Christian Capitalism: A war on our Economy and Debt
This war on islam and creation of a judeo- christian theocracy will be in parallel to Bannon's and the Mercers' other intent, which is "Christian capitalism". In his Economic Nationalism, this includes:
Trade Isolationism, Eliminating the Federal Reserve, dismantling the political elite, and radically altering current financial systems. (more work for another time)
...<the force> that fought this great war, <was> really the Judeo-Christian West versus atheists, right? The underlying principle is an enlightened form of capitalism, that capitalism really gave us the wherewithal. It kind of organized and built the materials needed to support, whether it’s the Soviet Union, England, the United States, and eventually to take back continental Europe and to beat back a barbaric empire in the Far East. - Steve Bannon Vatican Call 2014
and Bannon really is a leninist in a way:
...So I think the discussion of, should we put a cap on wealth creation and distribution? It’s something that should be at the heart of every Christian that is a capitalist — “What is the purpose of whatever I’m doing with this wealth? What is the purpose of what I’m doing with the ability that God has given us, that divine providence has given us to actually be a creator of jobs and a creator of wealth?” Steve Bannon Vatican Call 2014
Bannon's words: "If you look back at the long history of the Judeo-Christian West struggle against Islam, I believe that our forefathers kept their stance, and I think they did the right thing. I think they kept it out of the world, whether it was at Vienna, or Tours, or other places… It bequeathed to use the great institution that is the church of the West." ...
Below are all my sources. Read the Vatican Transcript (I am relying on it being an accurate transcript.) Tonight I'm going to watch his GenerationZero documentary, but I'm petrified.

Excerpts from the Vatican Call Transcript
..." If you look back at the long history of the Judeo-Christian West struggle against Islam, I believe that our forefathers kept their stance, and I think they did the right thing. I think they kept it<islam> out of the world, whether it was at Vienna, or Tours, or other places… It bequeathed to us the great institution that is the church of the West.
..."See what’s happening, and you will see we’re in a war of immense proportions. It’s very easy to play to our baser instincts, and we can’t do that. But our forefathers didn’t do it either. And they were able to stave this off, and they were able to defeat it, and they were able to bequeath to us a church and a civilization that really is the flower of mankind, so I think it’s incumbent on all of us to do what I call a gut check, to really think about what our role is in this battle that’s before us."
..."And I would ask everybody in the audience today, because you really are the movers and drivers and shakers and thought leaders in the Catholic Church today, is to think, when people 500 years from now are going to think about today, think about the actions you’ve taken — and I believe everyone associated with the church and associated with the Judeo-Christian West that believes in the underpinnings of that and believes in the precepts of that and want to see that bequeathed to other generations down the road as it was bequeathed to us, particularly as you’re in a city like Rome, and in a place like the Vatican, see what’s been bequeathed to us — ask yourself, 500 years from today, what are they going to say about me? What are they going to say about what I did at the beginning stages of this crisis? " -- Steve Bannon in his message to Vatican 2014
The Mercers The Money behind Bannon, Kellyann, and first Ted Cruz, then Trump's campaign.
More about the Mercers:
My work has always taught me to follow the money.
"In a recent statement Mercer declared, in language reminiscent of an early John Birch pamphlet, that “America is finally fed up and disgusted with its political elite. Trump is channeling this disgust and those among the political elite who quake before the boombox of media blather do not appreciate the apocalyptic choice that America faces on November 8th. We have a country to save and there is only one person who can save it.”
"But the family’s rise, facilitated by an increasingly aggressive network of Mercer-backed institutions and operatives, has prompted worry within the GOP about an attempted takeover, and questions from across the political spectrum about what the Mercers intend to do with the influence they’ve purchased."
"Bekah Mercer had grown increasingly frustrated with the Kochs’ approach. It is not as politically aggressive as she preferred and also much more supportive of trade and immigration, said operatives and donors"
"Mercer also clashed with mega-donor Toby Neugebauer, an energy investor, over control of the constellation of four pro-Cruz super PACs with variations of the Keep the Promise name, and tried to install controversial evangelical activist David Barton to help run them."
David Barton Wikipedia - David Barton (born January 28, 1954 in Aledo, Texas) is an evangelical Christian political activist and author. He is the founder of WallBuilders, LLC, a Texas-based organization that promotes unorthodox views about the religious basis of the United States. He has been described as a Christian nationalist and "one of the foremost Christian revisionist historians"; much of his work is devoted to advancing the idea, based upon research that many historians and journalists describe as flawed, that the United States was founded as an explicitly Christian nation and that the assertion that the United States Constitution calls for separation of church and state is a "myth

The Danger of Steve Bannon on the national security council- WaPost
"The president compounded this error of structure with an error of judgment that should send shivers down the spine of every American and our allies worldwide. Even as he pushed away professional security advice, Trump decided to make his top political advisor, Stephen K. Bannon, a permanent member of the NSC. Although the White House chief of staff is typically a participant in NSC deliberations, I do not know of another situation in which a political adviser has been a formal permanent member of the council."

Bannon on Putin and Russia
"You know, Putin’s been quite an interesting character. He’s also very, very, very intelligent. I can see this in the United States where he’s playing very strongly to social conservatives about his message about more traditional values, so I think it’s something that we have to be very much on guard of. Because at the end of the day, I think that Putin and his cronies are really a kleptocracy, that are really an imperialist power that want to expand. However, I really believe that in this current environment, where you’re facing a potential new caliphate (muslim rule or ruler) that is very aggressive that is really a situation — I’m not saying we can put it on a back burner — but I think we have to deal with first things first." -Steve Bannon Vatican Call
Predicting Bannon's coming War... Time Mag
"...This, however, is one of the terrible things about crisis periods: many people will believe almost anything. The United States faces a terrible crisis right now even though our economy is much improved from eight years ago and we are not involved in a large war. And the Republican Party and Donald Trump are poised to take advantage of it. In my opinion, Trump, Bannon, Gingrich, Ryan and the rest will use their opportunity during the next year or two to undo as much of the Democratic legacy as they can—not only the Obama legacy, but that of FDR and LBJ as well.
More than once during our interview, he pointed out that each of the three preceding crises had involved a great war, and those conflicts had increased in scope from the American Revolution through the Civil War to the Second World War. He expected a new and even bigger war as part of the current crisis, and he did not seem at all fazed by the prospect...."
Tom Ashbrooks Reading List
From Tom’s Reading List - WBUR on point pagePOLITICO: The man behind Trump? Still Steve Bannon — "In the 10 days since Trump’s inauguration, Bannon — the former head of Breitbart News — has rapidly amassed power in the West Wing, eclipsing chief of staff Reince Priebus, who was among those at the Alfalfa Club event. Along with charting the early direction of the Trump administration, he’s been named to a seat on the National Security Council, giving him a part in the nation’s most sensitive intelligence operations."
BuzzFeed News: How Steve Bannon Took Charge Of The Trump Administration -- "Bannon rose by using Breitbart for fierce attacks on more moderate Republicans and by embracing racist and white nationalist elements of the party — though he has disavowed white nationalist views. Bannon and his close White House ally Stephen Miller have cast themselves as plain-old nationalists instead. And in one week, they have built a clear power center in the White House. Bannon did not respond to a request for comment for this story."
Bloomberg Businessweek: This Man Is the Most Dangerous Political Operative in America — "To succeed, Bannon will need to activate the anger and disgust with cronyism that’s as powerful among supporters of Sanders as it is among fans of Trump. In Tallahassee, as GAI’s phone keeps ringing, the vehicle for achieving this is clear. Editors and reporters at prominent magazines and newspapers, including ones that had passed when approached with Clinton Cash revelations, are calling to ask when the next salvo will arrive—and might they arrange an exclusive?"

The current economic crisis is not a failure of capitalism, but a failure of culture.
